As with most Pokemon games, Pokemon Sun and Moon has become a huge hit since Nintendo released the title for the 3DS console. Gamers have been putting a lot of effort and time in the game, so the company is rewarding them with a special Pikachu wearing Ash’s iconic hat. But rather than giving away just one, there will be multiple versions of the cap that will be made available in-game.

In celebration of the 20th Pokemon film, I Choose You,  Nintendo is distributing free serial codes for the Yellow critter with the classic hat to those who will pre-order a ticket for the movie. However, the hat that one will receive depends on when the player redeems the code. According to IGN, those codes are for single use only and players can obtain each hat in two periods of time throughout the year.

This isn’t the first time Nintendo is treating Pokemon fans with a special hat-wearing Pikachu. The game maker previously released a Santa hat-sporting Pikachu in Pokemon GO late last year. A few weeks ago, it also released a festive party hat-wearing one in the same title.

Meanwhile, in addition to all the free caps Nintendo is giving out, players will also receive the Pikashumium Z-Crystal. This will unlock Pikachu’s special Z-Move, the 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt. This an awesome gift to all Pokemon Sun and Moon players out there. Unfortunately, though, the Ash Pikachu Hat event is applicable only in Japan at this point.

Game Rant notes that there’s no word yet whether the event or the I Choose You movie will make its way to the US. However, it’s worth noting that films from the popular franchise are typically dubbed and released in international theaters, so it’s will likely hit American cinemas eventually.

After all, the upcoming movie retells the very first episode of the original Pokemon series. Plus, the recent theater re-release of Mewtwo Strikes Back – the first Pokemon film – was also a success. Surely, Nintendo wouldn’t want to miss this chance to bring its classic Pokemon characters to the big screen. Western fans can only keep their fingers crossed that the company would offer the same bonus to US moviegoers.

I Choose You premieres in Japan on July 15.
