Another weekend, another Brunch tested with friends. This time we checked out Joya Lifestyle which is a lifestyle shop as well as a restaurant and now brunch spot. The food is quite high end rather than home style and everything we had was very good quality. Good location as well on Place du Pin (one of the "hipper" areas of Nice) and inside is very current.
A quick preview of some of the offerings which change season by season, we went in March...
You can sit outside but we had a table booked inside as the weather wasn't great. But in summer it could be pleasant to watch the world go by on Place du Pin.
Here is the Jya Brunch menu: http://joyalifestore.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/JOYA-BRUNCH.pdf
We had a large round table towards the back with the food being on the right side. I was constantly a little paranoid that I would break all the lovely kitchenware next to me!
I can imagine apero time being nice with friends at these long high tables.
This was my view from my table towards the sweet section - very tempting ;)
OK so let's head over to the food. Various options to top your " fromage blanc" with (how does that translate into English, some kind of yoghurt?), fruit kebabs, marshmallows and a creamy fruity dessert thing. There is also a chocolate fountain to dip things in.
Macarons, cute little mini patisseries, chocolate tart and lemon tart.
If there are patisseries then you also need viennoiseries and these aren't cheap yucky ones, these are full butter proper bakery style croissants and pains au chocolat. As well as some iced doughnuts and brownies.
Pains aux raisins, cake and more doughnuts plus some sweets as we move towards the beginning of the savoury section.
Which had chicken drumsticks.
Bacon and sausages.
Loads of salad options. With bread sticks.
Another shot of the salads and down bottom right you can see the charcuterie and cornichons.
This is France. Of course there is cheese.
And when there is cheese there must be bread! Lots of bread. All the bread. I love bread. Do you love bread too? They make all the breads in house with organic flour and Gerande sea salt.
I was amused by the pattern the Nutella made ;)
Hubby went more for the savoury options with scrambled eggs, salmon, saucisson and cornichons plus some of the yummy breads on offer.
The brunch includes a freshly squeezed juice, I chose the citrus blend (orange, lemon and grapefruit) and was amused by one of friend's detox one which was purple due to beetroot :)
And a hot drink is included and I chose an espresso.
And we had to go back for some desserts :) Chocolate mousse-like cake and a chocolate and hazelnut mini-tart were both lovely.
