Shells on Garter-stitch Background

Yarrn shown in this swatch: Katia baby yarn. Size: 2.25mm.
Techniques used.
Knit, purl: K, P
Purl 2 sts together: P2tog.
Purl 2 sts together through the back loop: P2tog-tbl
How to knit the shell stitch.
- (Insert right-hand needle into the front of the stitch 5 rows below the 3rd stitch on the left hand needle, and draw through a long loop; slip this loop onto the right-hand needle, then knit the next stitch) 6 times, taking all 6 loops from the same stitch below.
PATTERN (no garter stitch border).
With color A, cast on 44 sts (a multiple of 14 sts  plus 2 additional sts) and knit one row.
Rows 1 through 6: With color B, knit all sts.
Row 7 - Right side: With color A, k9, * shell stitch, k8; repeat from * to last 7 sts, shell stitch, k1.
Row 8: With color A, k1, * (p2tog-tbl) 3 times, p1, (p2tog) 3 times, k7; repeat from * to last st, k1.
Rows 9 through 14: With color B, knit all sts.
Row 15: With color A, k2, * shell stitch, k8; repeat from * to end.
Row 16: With color A, k1, * k7, (p2tog-tbl) 3 times, p1, (p2tog) 3 times; repeat from * to last st, k1.
Repeat rows 1 - 16 till necessary for completing your project.
