Battling Summer Dust: My Secret Weapon

Thank you Rohto Dry-Aid for sponsoring this post.

I spend a lot of time in the saddle these days. California summers are extremely dry and dusty.  I never realized how bad the dust was until Fira and I started going out for more trail rides together. We just celebrated our one-year anniversary last month so I can’t claim to be a newbie horse owner to SoCal anymore but that won’t stop me from complaining about the dust and dirt. Some days I feel like I’m out riding in the desert.

I recently started experiencing irritation from Dry Eye during and after our long rides. I’ve never had any eye issues before, so I thought my dry eye was just an annoying, painful phase at first. It was my husband who suggested I try putting in some eye drops after a ride to give me some relief.  There is nothing worse than coming up behind a group of trail horses and being surrounded by a cloud of dust, feeling like you can’t shake off that grit . Dry eye makes me feel like my vision is limited and that I’m in restricted in my eye’s range of motion. Thankfully it’s been Rohto Dry-Aid to the rescue! They are the right eye drops for me – a must have essential to keep in the barn before I saddle up.

Sunglasses and Rohto Dry-Aid, my secret weapon for leaving dry eye in the dust. Rohto Dry-Aid brings fast-acting, long-lasting relief and is  clinically proven to help improve dry eye symptoms including burning, stinging, dryness, irritation, and grittiness. Plus you won’t have blurry vision from the drops. Rohto Dry-Aid’s unique formula soothes and cools burning eyes instantly, offering consistent and continuous dry eye relief throughout the day, no need to continually reapply.

Optometrist Dr. Susan Resnick,  advises dry eye patients to avoid using oily cosmetics and skincare products that are hard to remove from the eye area.

When your favorite sunnies and your eye drops match, you take cute photos of course.

Having sensitive eyes isn’t something I let slow me down, but I’m proactive about taking care of my one pair of eyes and putting my health first. I never take any eye issues lightly and always do my best to take care of them. Fira and I have so many trails that we haven’t even explored and I can’t wait to see what adventures we go on this year. Riding to the Hollywood sign and Observatory are both a part of my summer goals!
