  • Indio - No Visible Damage, its dark out. Water in pool moving
  • Fullerton, CA - No damage.
  • Lakeside - Laptop fell of the bed and the screen broke.
  • la mesa - Awoken by what felt about a 3.0 earthquake about 1 a.m.
  • San Diego - We were watching tv, sitting on the sofa, when we felt a mild swaying. Then it paused, maybe a second or so, and picked up intensity. I heard metal clanking and I felt our entire apartment shake for about 8 seconds. It felt like 2 separate earthquakes... The smaller one triggered the larger one.
  • Hemet - Thought someone hit the wall but continued to rattle seemed almost rolling gave a good shake
  • Ontario - Felt significant shaking in Ontario and the whole house was rattling. I assumed it was nearby, surprised how far away it was from me.
  • Chula vista - Very short bursts but not gentle either .. Lasted 10-15 seconds. Two really big shakes
  • Chula vista - My bes started moving, then I felt the ground moving. I even hear it .
  • Mission Viejo, Orange County - Bed was shaking so was computer and desk..lasted awhile
  • Ladera Ranch - Felt a jolt. Then a long roller. Got out of bed and felt dizzy. Nothing broken.
  • Oceanside - Was sleeping and it woke me. Gorton scared
  • Tijuana - No damage, but felt it enough to be waken up by it.
  • San diego - First it was bby quakes then after shock
  • Big Bear City - No damage, just woke us up out of bed with moderate shaking.
  • Azusa - Strong enough to move my bed a bit
  • San Diego - It was short
  • Laguna Niguel - Definitely strong shaking. Woke me up. On second floor.
  • San Diego - Slight shake followed seconds later with significant shaking, chandelier rocking back and forth. No damage noted.
  • Los Angeles - I heard metal rattling in my apartment. I couldn't figure out what it was. After 20 seconds, suddenly I felt the ground under me shake very lightly, and then I realized it was an earthquake. 1-2 minutes later, I heard more metal rattling in my kitchen.
  • Escondido - walls shook, windows rattled for approximately 10 seconds. There were no further tremors
  • corona - Lots of rolling and shaking was fully awake reading
  • Los Angeles - Quake was a rolling rumble low grade type earthquake. It had a swaying effect but definitely noticeable if you were awake.

  • Hermosa Beach - I was in bed in Hermosa Beach, California. I felt a swaying motion and knew it was a quake. I performed a google search online and it was confirmed.
  • Palm Desert - Strong and abrupt!
  • Temecula - I heard the "thunder" first then the shaking started. Also with my bare feet I could feel the ground rolling. My dog was in her kennel and barked a couple times. She came out staring at the door thinking someone was trying to get it. No damage, wasn't strong enough to knock things off tables or shelves.
  • chula vista, CA - No demage, only felted as two shakes movements the second stronger than the first one,... Lateral movements I would say I felted as if the firts shake were the a 3 from scale and 5 from the second shake. Last one definitly felt stronger. Thank you Jessica

  • San diego - Woke up to shaking and was still going.
  • El Cajon San diego - While I was watching tv at 1am I felt the the whole apartment was shaking and the second one it was harder even my wife woke up.. This is the first time I experience such a thing.. Really scary! We're safe no damage.

  • San Diego - Felt it in San Diego, building shaking twice, fell on the floor.

  • Oceanside - Strong enough to wake my husband and I up.
  • Temecula - Felt a strong jolt, then severe rolling for well over a minute. Doors opened on cabinets, house groaned and creaked loudly. Felt a second jolt shortly after the first.
  • Lakeside, ca 92040 - Heard it before i felt it but shook for quite some time
  • Mira Mesa - Woke from sleep to shaking and rolling. Scary!
  • La Quinta - I felt two sudden jolting shakes with a lot of house noise happening as I hurried from my bed into the living room and felt the second one and saw pictures on the wall askew! It was frightening!
  • Hemet - This woke me out of a sleep and seem to last for a while
  • San Diego - Entire house shook, could hear things rattling. Woke me up. Woke dogs up. No damage. Lasted few seconds but enough to realize it was most definitely and earthquake.
  • San diego - I just sat down to read my Bible and heard a sound and then a violent shaking of my bed and my room. it was brief though
  • Arcadia - Building and windows shook
  • Carlsbad - I was almost asleep, and it gave me/my bed a good shaking for about 5 seconds.

  • los angeles - felt palpable but weak shaking for around 30 seconds. am on 3rd/top flr of apt blg in LA
  • Dana Point - Definitely Felt a shaking, perhaps rolling quake. Shook us out of bed.
  • Anaheim - I assumed it was just me being paranoid until my friend started spamming me with texts.
  • San Diego - It woke me up it always feels like a rat is under the bed of course no one else felt it in the house.
  • Cardiff - It woke me up and windows and sliders were shaking. I am on the 2nd story and felt a good rattle.
  • Poway - small jolt , then 30 seconds later, slightly larger jolt
  • Pasadena - No damage just shaking for a few minutes
  • La habra - Felt it rocking for a bit
  • San Diego - I'm at work and I thought someone was running around upstairs, that's until everything around me and myself started to shake. I hurried and jumped on Google where it was confirmed
  • Palm Springs - Shaking and loud rumbling which grew in intensity and seemed to last almost a full minute, followed by a much weaker but longer-lasting "earthquake shadow" which was palpable in my house (built upon stilts bolted into hillside bedrock 500 feet above the valley floor). No damage to house, no fallen objects. Slight, short aftershock appx. a half hour later.
  • Carlsbad - I was awoken out of a sound sleep, heard a rumblinf and felt moving, then it happened again shortly after the first time. If that was small....I do not want to feel a big one! My first earthquake experience!
  • Perris - I felt my bed swaying back and forth, don't remember much noise. I first thought my small dog was moving around in bed, but then I realized it was an earthquake. I got out of bed 6 minutes later to check since this felt very big to me.

  • Duarte - I was working night shift, had my hands on a large test fixture and felt it shake once
  • San Diego - Few seconds of pretty good shaking. Not aware of any damage.
  • Lake San Marcos - Loud noise then windows rattled and house shook and knew right away it was a fairly strong quake. Didn't last very long. Woke everyone in house.

    MMI II (Very weak shaking) ?
    People :
    Felt by persons at rest, on upper floors or favorably placed.
    MMI III (Weak shaking) ?
    People :
    Felt indoors; hanging objects may swing, vibration similar to passing of light trucks, duration may be estimated, may not be recognized as an earthquake.
    MMI IV (Light shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally noticed indoors but not outside. Light sleepers may be awakened. Vibration may be likened to the passing of heavy traffic, or to the jolt of a heavy object falling or striking the building.
    Fittings :
    Doors and windows rattle. Glassware and crockery rattle. Liquids in open vessels may be slightly disturbed. Standing motorcars may rock.
    Structures :
    Walls and frames of buildings, and partitions and suspended ceilings in commercial buildings, may be heard to creak.
    MMI V (Moderate shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally felt outside, and by almost everyone indoors. Most sleepers awakened. A few people alarmed.
    Fittings :
    Small unstable objects are displaced or upset. Some glassware and crockery may be broken. Hanging pictures knock against the wall. Open doors may swing. Cupboard doors secured by magnetic catches may open. Pendulum clocks stop, start, or change rate.
    Structures :
    Some large display windows cracked. A few earthenware toilet fixtures cracked.
    MMI VI (Strong shaking) ?
    People Felt by all. People and animals alarmed. Many run outside. Difficulty experienced in walking steadily.
    Fittings :
    Objects fall from shelves. Pictures fall from walls. Some furniture moved on smooth floors, some unsecured free-standing fireplaces moved. Glassware and crockery broken. Very unstable furniture overturned. Small church and school bells ring. Appliances move on bench or table tops. Filing cabinets or "easy glide" drawers may open (or shut).
    Structures :
    Slight damage to buildings with low standard. Some stucco or cement plaster falls. Large display windows broken. Damage to a few weak domestic chimneys, some may fall.
    Environment :
    Trees and bushes shake, or are heard to rustle. Loose material may be dislodged from sloping ground, e.g. existing slides, talus slopes, shingle slides.
    MMI VII (Very strong shaking) ?
    People
    General alarm. Difficulty experienced in standing. Noticed by motorcar drivers who may stop.
    Fittings :
    Large bells ring. Furniture moves on smooth floors, may move on carpeted floors. Substantial damage to fragile contents of buildings.
    Structures :
    Unreinforced stone and brick walls cracked. Low standard buildings cracked with some minor masonry falls. A few instances of damage to buildings of ordinary workmanship. Unbraced parapets, unbraced brick gables, and architectural ornaments fall. Roofing tiles, especially ridge tiles may be dislodged. Many unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, often falling from roof-line. Water tanks Type I burst. A few instances of damage to brick veneers and plaster or cement-based linings. Unrestrained water cylinders (hot-water cylinders) may move and leak. Some common windows cracked. Suspended ceilings damaged.
    Environment :
    Water made turbid by stirred up mud. Small slides such as falls of sand and gravel banks, and small rock-falls from steep slopes and cuttings. Instances of settlement of unconsolidated or wet, or weak soils. Some fine cracks appear in sloping ground. A few instances of liquefaction (i.e. small water and sand ejections).
    MMI VIII (Severe shaking) ?
    People Alarm may approach panic. Steering of motorcars greatly affected. Structures : Low standard buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. ordinary workmanship buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged in some cases. A few instances of damage to buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes. Monuments and pre-1976 elevated tanks and factory stacks twisted or brought down. Some pre-1965 infill masonry panels damaged. A few post-1980 brick veneers damaged. Decayed timber piles of houses damaged. Houses not secured to foundations may move. Most unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, some below roof-line, many brought down. Environment : Cracks appear on steep slopes and in wet ground. Small to moderate slides in roadside cuttings and unsupported excavations. Small water and sand ejections and localized lateral spreading adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
    MMI IX (Violent shaking) ?
    Structures Many low standard buildings destroyed. Ordinary workmanship buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes damaged in some cases, some with flexible frames seriously damaged. Damage or permanent distortion to some buildings and bridges, designed and built to normal use standards. Houses not secured to foundations shifted off. Brick veneers fall and expose frames. Environment : Cracking of ground conspicuous. Landsliding general on steep slopes. Liquefaction effects intensified and more widespread, with large lateral spreading and flow sliding adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
