The 1.1.1.1 configuration is made by Cloudflare which is indeed free to use by the wider community. To ensure that the Private DNS that was installed was active or not, you can visit the following site 1.1.1.1/help.

1. Enter Settings - Network & Internet - then select Private DNS then please enter the dns listed above. Example (one.one.one.one or 1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com or dns.google or dns.quad9.net).
2. Then press the button Save, it will be automatically.
3. To check it, you can see it on the DNS Leak Test site and if it is active your custom dns will appear.

How to Set Private DNS on WiFi
If you don't use cellular data and use wifi for internet access, for the settings you can use the method above, but if you are not connected to a custom dns, then you can do it manually, here's how.
1. Select the SSID WiFi network you wish to connect to.
2. Then enter the password, then select Advanced and scroll down, the IP Settings will appear and change from DHCP to Static then please fill in the blanks, for example as below.

  • IP address: 192.168.xx.2
  • Gateway: 192.168.xx.1 (your main internet ip address)
  • Network Prefix Length: 24
  • DNS 1: 8.8.8.8
  • DNS 2: 8.8.4.4
