Simple to use and open source macOS user interface for the TeX Live Manager, designed to help you update your MacTeX installation with ease

What's new in TeX Live Utility 1.52:

  • Added TL 2020 fallback mirror in April 2021. Oops.
  • No longer log errno unless waitpid fails, because users keep trying to interpret the log spew and just give me the part that they incorrectly think is relevant.
  • Hardcoded URLs are now https instead of http. Feel the security.

TeX Live Utility is a free and open source Macos graphical Interface for TeX Live Manager that aims to provide a native macOS interface for the most commonly used functions of the TeX Live Manager command-line tool.

The TeX Live Utility app is designed to help you effortlessly set paper size for all the TeX programs you run on your Mac, as well as rapidly removing and installing packages.

Why should you use TeX Live Utility when you can use the command line tlmgr or the Perl/Tk GUI?

Because TeX Live Utility performs TeX Live infrastructure updates using the Disaster Recovery script, which avoids problems with tlmgr removing itself while updating.

What's more, there's no compelling reason to switch from the command line or X11 GUI if you're you're comfortable with them.

Detailed instructions on how to install and use TeX Live Utility on your Mac are available on the Getting Started page, on its official website.
