Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga has officially withdrawn from the Presidential Debate over what they termed as DP William Ruto’s greed of power.
Through his Presidential Secretariat, they confirmed that this year’s debate lack the opportunity for Kenyans to learn from their candidates as has been tradition.
The statement by Prof. Makau Mutua continues by accusing the Deputy President William Ruto of doing and saying anything for his ungovernable greed for power.

“He is a man who has no regard for ethics, public morals or shame. That is why he has demanded that the debate not to focus on corruption, integrity, ethics and governance-the key existential questions that Kenyans face.
This issues sit at the core of Azimio campaign. Any debate devoid of these questions would be an insult to the intelligence of Kenyans. That is why we do not intend to share a national podium with a person who lacks basic decency.
As is well known, our opponent has traversed the country hurling epithets at us and other key national leaders, including vile sexist attacks.” Read the statement.
It is in that regard that the the Azimio coalition has planned a town hall meeting with Kenyans at Jericho Social Hall in Nairobi’s Eastlands where they will offer their solutions to challenges facing the country and common people.
