Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has confirmed holding talks with the club’s President Joan Laporta over his future.
The news comes at a time when the manager looks forward another season with the Catalans even though he feels wrongly judged by the media over recent results by the club.
The future of the Dutchman is currently under review after Barcelona slipped to hold ground against fellow giants Atletico and Real Madrid who are in the race to lift the league tittle.
- Zinedine Zidane ready to depart the Bernabeu on May 23
- Robert Lewandoski equals Gerd Muller’s Bundesliga record
- Leicester beat Chelsea to lift first FA Cup in their history
- Barcelona thrash Athletic Bilbao to lift Copa del Rey cup
Barcelona drew against Levante in their last fixture to dent their hopes even though they sit in third position with a guarantee of a Champions League position come next season.
In his first task, he won the Copa del Rey and showed better results to come but fell short in the Champions League going down against Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite the setbacks, he strongly believes he has a good relationship with the players and that he has their full support.
“I want to stay; I am happy and I see a lot of room to improve things. It’s a path that doesn’t end this season. In my opinion, there are a lot of positives. You can’t say two weeks ago everything is perfect and now it’s all terrible. That’s not fair.” Said Koeman.
