Chapter- 11 | I don’t remember

A short Fiction tale

Chapter- 11 (If I Fall)

I don’t remember

“We were friends in school.” she said,

That was shocking to hear, because I barely knew her and she says we were friends.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Look, I know you are angry at me but please let me go, I don’t wanna talk.” she tried to get away.

It loosed my grip on her hand when she jerked her wrist,

And I kept looking at her in disbelief as she walked away.

“I hope it’ll all be better.” she said before leaving,

Everything felt revolving around me,

We were friends? I was mad?

When did all that happened, how do I not remember her.

My head was spinning wild, I couldn’t understand what was happening.

There’s only one place I go to seek peace and that’s the lake,

Funny how things turned out,

Right when I reached there I was thinking about Joe.

And I saw him sitting along waterside.

“What are you doing here?” I asked and he looked back,

“I could ask you the same.” he said with a smile,

Sitting beside him, I explained what happened and he listened calmly,

“Do you think she was lying?” he said when I stopped speaking,

“Why would she lie?” I said, I even more confused now,

“Well then, let’s forget it for now. We will look into it tomorrow.” he said holding my hand.

It felt good, and I did as he said. I stopped worrying about it.

We sat together till the sun went down. I got the peace I was looking for in the calmness of his words.

I don’t know what is it that we have, but the connection I feel with him is different.

It’s like I’ve always been with him. And I would like to be with him furthermore.

to be continued…
