The Autorickshaw, Cab drivers and food delivery boys are very badly affected by Covid in twin cities. According to GHMC Covid task force, maximum people are suffering from this killer disease in Hyderabad.
Owing to the second wave of Covid-19, the restaurants are witnessing low footfalls but the online deliveries have increased remarkably well. Food delivery apps such as Swiggy and Zomato are saying that their Delivery Boys are following maximum safety measures to ensure customers food is safe to consume.
On the contrary, media reports claim that 311 delivery boys in Hyderabad have contracted the Covid-19. The apps based companies are not providing any sort of help to the delivery boys and strangely asked them to take care of their own safety. But as per the government norm, app based companies have to provide PPE kits to delivery boys.
Same is the case with Auto and Cab Drivers. Nearly 550 Ola and Uber cab drivers and 1000 aito drivers have tested positive for the virus and this is mainly due to no restrictions on moments and the app based companies are running their operations from various parts of the country. Shocking Ola and Uber are said to be ignoring the safety measures for their drivers.
The auto and cab drivers and delivery boys union demanded the government to provide them health insurance and a compensation of Rs 25 Lakh to the Covid victims. So far five people have died of the virus.
So people of the twin cities need to be more watchful while placing an order or booking a cab or auto ride. #KhabarLive #hydnews
