The great thing about this Savory Jarcuterie is that everyone will have their own jar or cup which will help eliminate sharing any unwanted germs.

Ingredients Needed for Savory Jarcuterie
- Cold Cuts – ham, turkey, and pepperoni are always great choices
- Crackers – Club Crackers are favorites around my house but you might have other crackers that you like better
- Honey Roasted Peanuts – if honey roasted peanuts aren’t your fave, try just the salted or lightly salted peanuts
- Pretzel Sticks – pretzel sticks fit into the empty spaces nicely (these are my favorites and they’re AWESOME)
- Sliced Cheese – individual cheese slices will work best for this since they will roll better. You can cut them in half so they are not too big for the jar
- Block Cheese – the block cheese will work the best when using small cookie cutters to cut out shapes of stars, hearts, or any shape that you desire.

How to Make Savory Jarcuterie
Putting these jars together is quick and easy. Here’s how.
Cut the block Cheese to appropriate thickness desired length for the cookie cutters you have to make cheese designs.
Roll cold cuts and sliced cheese.
Layer the cheese, cold cuts and crackers inside the jars.
Add the peanuts or nuts throughout as you are filling the jars as they will help hold everything in place.
Add in the pretzel sticks last, as they will help fill up the empty spaces.
Recipe Notes and Tips
Since this recipe is great for on the go, using small cookie cutters to cut the block cheese will work best. Otherwise, the cheese will not fit in the jar or be much to big to work well on a skewer.
When you roll the cold cuts and cheese, you can roll them each separately or roll a slice of each together for a more hearty bite.
Garnish with a sprig of herbs for a pop of color.
Jarcuterie Variations To Try
Cold Cuts – There are so many great choices to choose from in addition to the ones we listed in this recipe. Bologna, Canadian Bacon, Salami, Roast Beef are just a few more that come to mind.
Crackers – Change up the type of crackers you add to the jarcuterie. Mini Club Crackers, Bite-size Ritz, wheat thin type crackers or even the mini vegetable crackers would be delicious.
Nuts – Why limit yourself to peanuts…..almonds, cashews, pecans or walnuts raisins would all work just as well.
Pretzels – Instead of pretzels, give popcorn a try. There are several great pre-packaged brands that would work perfectly. Cheese Nips or Goldfish are a fun addition for your little ones as well.
Fruits and Veggies – Try adding a few grapes, strawberries, blueberries or grape tomatoes to a wooden skewer and topping it with a piece of shaped cheese.
How long will my Jarcuterie keep?
Ideally you will want to serve them right away or within a reasonable amount of time so the cheese doesn’t start to get hard and the meat stays cool. It would be best to keep refrigerated until serving.
If you have leftovers, you should definitely take the perishable food out of the jars and store in baggie or air-tight container.
What other types of items can I use in a jarcuterie?
Great question! There are so many different options. Use mini skewers with deli meat, cheese and add in some olives or pickles.
I personally love the meat and cream cheese rolls up which would work perfectly on a skewer as well.
For your family members with a sweet tooth, mini muffins or cupcakes with M&M’s and peanuts. Raisins, craisins or any small hand-held food items that will fit in a jar will be awesome.
What type of jars should I use?
Well preferably, mason jars will work the best. But if you have unique jars or decorative jars that you love, they will work too.
