10x Conversions Using Video In Your Marketing Campaign

The streaming video already accounts for over two-thirds of all internet traffic, and this share is expected to jump to 82% by 2020, according to Cisco’s June 2016 Visual Networking Index report

Whose driving this growth? A study conducted by SSRS Media and Technology shows that those between the age of 18 – 34 spend a considerable amount of time streaming video. In fact, it’s even rivaling the average amount of time spent watching TV.

Videos are highly effective at boosting your conversions. They are often preferred to reading content and build trust in you and your brand. The ability to connect with your audience using video can be very rewarding.

In June 2016, Facebook VP Nicola Mendelsohn said at a Fortune event that she thinks that video will account for all content on the platform by 2021, and that mobile will play an increasingly important role in making that a reality.

Below are five main reasons to incorporate video in all of your content.

Google Ranking & SERP Quality Content Tips

They Are Easy To Make

I’m very camera shy, always have been. I’d rather be the one behind the lens than in front of it. Just ask my kids.

Nonetheless, we can all talk faster than we can type. Through video, you can convey at least twice as much information in a given minute than typing it all out.  The good news is, you don’t need to get in front of the camera if you absolutely don’t want to. It’s better if you do but you don’t have to.

Just look at the youtube videos. Many times when I’m reading a news piece it’s followed by a short video that basically just highlights the main points of the article I’m reading.

You can easily put that together for each of your blogs. It mostly comprises of pictures and text.  Animated text is even better because it holds one’s interest.

If you have a MAC as I do, learn to use Keynote for animation and iMovie for video production and uploading to YouTube. I use Keynote to put together my animation and then drop the mp4 into iMovie to add music and upload it to YouTube.

Higher Conversions

It’s a fact that content with high conversions contains both text and video. The reason is that although some folks like to read, many others prefer to watch a short video. Give them both.

  • Video links within emails boost email open rates by 19%.
  • When an email contains a link to a video, the click-through rate jumps by 200% to 300%!
  • Website visitors will spend 88% more time on a site with a video.

The top five platforms to leverage video streaming are Facebook, Twitter, YouTube Live and Tumblr.

Show & Tell

Sometimes it’s easier to show how to do something than it is to explain in words, right?  Video provides the means to convey a large amount of information in a short amount of time.

Consider “how-to” videos. Look for a common issue that people are looking for in Google and create a video about it. Using applications such as QuickTime lets you record your own screen so you can easily walk someone through a demonstration.
