Lamb Biryani and Dal Chawal? UK’s Iconic Red Phone Box Is ‘World’s Smallest Takeaway Restaurant’

The demand for Pakistani food is on the rise in the United Kingdom. While there are many restaurants providing authentic Pakistani cuisine, you just cannot get enough! Pakistani entrepreneur, Tayyab Shafiq, 25, recognized this need and jumped at the opportunity to bring something new and different to the market. He rented the Red Kiosk Company’s booths that contain the old used phones, and turned them into small takeaway restaurants.

Living in London made Tayyab realize that Pakistani and Indian cuisines are often mixed. There is hardly any place from where you can get original Pakistani snacks. He wanted to promote Pakistani traditions while ensuring he tried something unique. Upon putting up images of his new venture on social media, he gained instant popularity. The British Press appreciated the idea while the locals were intrigued by this Smallest Takeaway in the world serving lamb and chicken biryani, samosas, dal chawal, drinks, and various other yummy snacks. Once you pass these three phone booths, you will have to stop on account of the delicious aromas wafting from inside.

Tayyab’s red phone booth restaurant idea is a sure example of how innovation has seeped into every industry. People are looking for new things to try and invest in. Whether it is in Pakistan or London, now is the time gear up and use your imagination to make the impossible happen.
