According to reports by Daily Sabah on May 7, Turkish Bahcesehir University (BAU) has established a Blockchain center at the Northeastern University, Boston (NEU) intending to provide all kind of informational support on Blockchain Technology.

Besides informational support, the BAU-NEU blockchain lab also intends to pitch for funds specifically in the United States, the European Union, and Turkey with an objective to boost Turkey’s presence in the blockchain sector globally and attract specialists in the field.

Enver Yucel – Chair of the BAU Board of Trustees, while commenting on the service said that even he intends to set up a blockchain related master and doctoral education programs in collaboration with the Turkish Exporter’s Assembly.

Further, the Director of BAU’s BlockchainIST Center, Bora Erdamar stated that “[Blockchain] would directly change all sectors from logistics to trade, from education to health, from energy to agriculture where we need to keep our products and people’s information in a safe environment.”

Blockchain technology is continuously gaining popularity in the education sector across the globe. Recently, Two major South Korean universities, Yonsei University, and Pohang University of Science and Technology have come together in order to establish an entire campus based on blockchain technology with its own cryptocurrency.

As a part of the initiative, the student-oriented project by the two universities aims to increase day-to-day cryptocurrency usage.

Moreover, in the month of February – the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta along with TalentSpirit (training platform) have jointly begun offering an advanced program in fintech and blockchain technology.

As per reports, the program is focussed at finance professionals and management intending to inform participants on fintech growth and its effect on the financial system and banking.
