The cast of Gogglebox Australia pay emotional tribute to Shane Warne following his shock death

The cast of Gogglebox Australia Appeared unusually sombre as they reflected on the shock death of Shane Warne during Thursday’s episode.

Many of the show’s stars were still reeling after the sudden death of the cricket legend, and spoke about how Shane had inadvertently impacted their lives. 

‘I reckon the only reason I started playing cricket when I was a kid was because of Warnie,’ revealed Milo Berriman.

‘I started taking hair pills ’cause of Warney. So he’s affected both of us,’ joked Nic.

Meanwhile, Matt Dalton said Shane had ‘given me more thrills than anyone else I know’, describing him as ‘the funnest, hardest-sporting larrikin I think Australia has ever produced’.

‘You’re gonna be missed, big fella,’ mused Milo, before Lee added, ‘Yeah, rest in peace, darl.’

Added Adam Densten: ‘I’ll tell you what, heaven is in for one hell of a party tonight.’  

Shane was found unresponsive in his villa in Koh Samui at around 5.15pm on Friday, March 4, and was later pronounced dead aged 52. 

The cricketing legend was on holiday in Thailand with three friends, who spent 20 minutes trying to revive him after they were unable to wake him.

He was rushed to the Thai International Hospital by ambulance where he was then pronounced dead.

Shane’s manager, James Erskine, released a statement in the early hours of Saturday morning announcing his death.  

‘Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,’ it read.

An autopsy showed the sports star died of natural causes, with a suspected heart attack believed to be the cause of death.

He’s set to be farewelled in a state memorial service at Melbourne Cricket Ground on March 30, with a private funeral expected to take place sometime next week. 

‘Victoria has lost an icon. Australia has lost a legend. And the entire cricketing world is mourning the loss of the King,’ Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said in a statement.

Shane was father to three children, son Jackson, 22, and daughters Brooke, 24, and Summer, 20, with his ex-wife, Simone Callahan. 

All three of his children paid tribute to their beloved father on social media in the wake of his shock death.

‘Dad my heart [is] broken. This doesn’t feel real and doesn’t make sense that you are not here with us anymore,’ wrote Brooke.

‘To my brother, my best friend, to my Dad, I love you so much. I don’t think anything is ever going to fill the void you have left in my heart,’ added Jackson. 

‘There [are] no words. It feels like I’m dreaming, waiting for someone to wake me up and tell me that you’re okay,’ wrote Summer. 

She added: ‘This can’t be real life. There’s no way that life is this cruel to the most beautiful people on this earth.’
