Safety First! Tips To Stay Safe Onboard.

Do you know that ship statistically is the safer method of transport? Even so, it’s worth taking a few basic precautions to stay safe. Most important is to remember – to have fun and be aware!

  • Check your stateroom surroundings. Make sure you know where closest exits and staircases. Familiarize yourself with safety notice behind you stateroom door. Where is your Master Station? Nearest Exit? What is Emergency Signals? What is key telephone numbers? Knowing this information will improve your safety.
  • Remember that all cabin doors closing automatically, give them a bit of push to make sure it closed properly. If the door has a dead bolt, use it. Look through your peephole before opening your cabin door to a knock.
  • Use safe box in your stateroom to lock all your valuables and documents.
  • Get to know your stateroom steward, tell him if there any defects or any unusual activity around you stateroom (Always call Guest Services if you have any safety concerns!).
  • Don’t accept an invitation to crew area. This is not a good idea, ever. It could result in instant dismissal for the crew, and you will likely be asked to leave at the next port stop.
  • Alcohol is a major contributing factor of personal safety incidents on cruises, so go easy on the booze. Be aware of your limits. There’s alcohol aplenty onboard and it’s easy to get carried away, but be mindful of how much you’re consuming. Also be aware of who is buying you booze, and don’t accept drinks from strangers. However inebriated you are, don’t accept a walk back to your cabin from a stranger.

Stay Safe and Bon Voyage!
