Kings Xi Punjab and Mumbai Indians have had a similar journey in the IPL 2020 season so far. Both have won one game while losing two. Punjab is 4th on the table right now while Mumbai is placed 5th. Both the teams will be clashing on the 1st of October at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, in the hope of securing another win and moving their way up the ladder.

Punjab’s bowling is being led by Mohammad Shami and West Indian Sheldon Cottrell. However, both the pacers tend to leak a lot of runs at the death. Young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been a revelation and Murugan Ashwin has supported him well. Their roles will be crucial in this match.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians have got most bases covered but their team isn’t firing on all cylinders yet. In their last game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai lost courtesy the Super Over.

Captain Rohit Sharma has been inconsistent at the top and Quinton de Kock hasn’t had an impact at all. Maybe the management could replace him with Chris Lynn and let Ishan Kishan, who spanked a wonderful 99 in the last match, take care of the wicket-keeping duties. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav have failed, too, but Kieron Pollard, who scored an unbeaten 60 in the previous match against Bangalore, looks to be getting in his groove.

Mumbai’s bowling is good but they are giving away a lot of runs. Jasprit Bumrah hasn’t looked at his best and James Pattinson has been really expensive. Trent Boult, however, has been excellent, and spinners Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya have done a good job, too. The onus will again be on them to restrict Punjab’s batting.
