The National Health Service…
There’s this thing called ‘Help for Heroes’,
a genuinely worthy cause.
Set up to help those brave hearts,
who served so we could be free.
We’re in the midst of battle once more,
like nothing we’ve seen before.
The frontline aren’t trained soldiers,
but they’re fighting to save you and me.
Putting themselves in danger,
taking risks beyond their pay grade.
They do this without complaint,
they’ll say it’s just what they do.
To not provide them with face masks,
or all the other equipment they need.
Like sending a World War One Tommy,
over the top without a gun.
So at the going down of the sun,
we thank them for all that they do.
For the sacrifices they’re making for us,
the least we can do is stay home.
