PERKS OF HAVING A MENTOR

We are drawn to inner growth, yet often find ourselves stumbling in confusion as we attempt to walk a path alone.

We all need a little light and guidance in life.

A Mentor can be a huge source of inspiration, advice and knowledge at any stage in your career and especially when you are starting out with one.

At work, when it comes to the wisdom that you need to help you advance in your career, your mentor will be the one there guiding and helping you to maximise your potentials.

A mentor will also help you to open doors; empower you, engage and enable you to focus on your goals, help you to realise what you are capable of achieving regardless of the challenges you foresee.

A good mentor will help you:
1.  Set a measurable goal and facilitate you to achieve one with clarity
2.  Share personal experiences that will inspire and keep you stay motivated
3.  Be an advocate of your achievements, alert you to new opportunities and provide you with constructive feedback
4.  Understand what it takes to get to the top and be a valuable resource by answering your career or work related questions
5. Be your own personal cheerleader
6. Help you to be ardent about your success and brand
7. Push you to hone and learn new skills that are needed for future roles

When I think of people that have achieved success in life – whether in sports or business, I know they’ve had good coaches or mentors along the way.

To achieve success through positive mentorship or coaching, you must first be open to receiving coaching. You must be vulnerable to see where your weaknesses are and where you’re falling short.

You cannot allow yourself to think you have all the answers because you never will.

I believe having a coach, mentor or motivational manager will help you turn the daily adversities of life into successful habits which build your internal resiliency.
