Former Manchester City star Vincent Kompany has named Virgil Van Dijk as the best quarterback seen in the Permian League ahead of others like John Terry and Rio Ferdinand.
The Dutch defender joined Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018, becoming the most expensive defender in the world.
While there have been players who have dominated for longer periods of time, Kompany says there is no one who has changed a team like Van Dijk, who for Kompany, is the best quarterback in the league he has ever seen.
"I would go back to Virgil Van Dijk. He has not been on stage as long as Terry, Ferdinand who have been around for a long time, but the signs he has displayed in recent years show a great deal of dominance, ”the Belgian legend has said.
