Today, Instagram confirmed to Buzzfeed News that it is ending the testing of a feature that would’ve let people see when another user took a screenshot of their story. This is an interesting deviation from competitor Snapchat, which sends notifications for screenshots and screen recordings of any media. Previously in February, Instagram issued a statement saying that it was testing the screenshot notification feature, and that some users might receive a warning when trying to screenshot for the first time: “Next time you take a screenshot or screen recording, the person who posted the story will be able to see it.”
