Google’s Annual Developer Festival – I/O 2018 is just around the corner!
Every year Google holds the developers gathering to let the developers know the upcoming projects, give them some insight for the future so that they can catchup with Google, when the actual product is about the be launched.
But since last few years, even the consumers are loving this event, as they get a glimpse in the upcoming updates for the mobile, search giant. Sighting this auto hyped advertisement advantage even Google has started a new trend to make some important public announcements of it upcoming OS Versions as well as Product Line.
So, what does Google has this year to pull from the magic hat?
Here’s a list of things that we can Expect this time.
Google I/O – 2018 – When and Where?
This time Google I/O event is taking place at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. Interestingly, Google posted a binary code this time to reveal the google.com/io website. This is another of their tactic to keep people on their toes, this was a puzzle for all to pinpoint the date and location.
Google takes a lot of efforts in making these events happening and cheerful. This year they have two specific keynotes – that means you can expect 2 big announcements and several other Sandbox and Codelabs sessions. Google I/O site is one worth visiting as it has many puzzles for us to try our hands on.
Expectations – What could be revealed?
This part should be taken with a pinch of salt as not all the buzz around can confirm what Google will showcase/announce.
Starting from the Donut to current Oreo, Google has a sweet tooth. So, this time the next iteration must be a delicacy starting from letter P. Many googler’s have previously predicted the right thing. This time Google has already spilled beans sometime back when they release some Spring Wallpaper Collection, which has the Spring Themed wallpapers, but one of them has got many google enthusiast going for a gasp, a wallpaper with many aligned Popsicles.
The Developer Preview of Android P has been already released by Google in March 2018, and we can expect a Public Beta to be release at this event.
The only better competitor to Amazon’s Alexa is from the Google’s stable and this young horse has miles to go, as already just being a year old this tech is good. We can expect a new announcement in this department.
Google’s smart speaker with Google Assistant as its main core saw some improvements last year, so we can expect a new generation or update on this one as well.
Google Daydream – VR & AR
Since its inception in 2016, Google Daydream has seen much improvements, and last year Google announced new phone partners and reference designs. Tough HTC was not able to bring the commercial version in the market, Google will certainly have something for this year.
AI for learning and research, Smart Reply feature on Gmail, Live Streaming on YouTube. There will be many more things that Google will have to announce. These are smaller updates, but they will have a big impact on the masses.
To sum it up, Google’s I/O event will be a great festival for developers as well as common googler’s. With an array of tech updates from the Internet giant, we can expect the upcoming times to be happening.
