Lockdown 2.0

Hello everyone,

It’s been a little while since I was last on the blog part of my site.
How have you all been?

As we enter Lockdown 2.0 in England, let’s take a look at what I’ve been up to since the last lockdown and what I’ll be doing during this upcoming lockdown.

•Work – as I told you all in my last lockdown post, I’m a registered veterinary nurse so I worked all throughout the last lockdown doing both days and nights to ensure all of your Fur Babies are cared for. During this next lockdown, we will only be working days so pet owners can rest assure that their fur babies will still have the care they need.

•Cross Stitch – I am still tirelessly working through the giant Harry Potter cross-stitch I spoke to you all about last time. Here is the link for the cross-stitch pattern – it’s free to download but consider donating a small amount because of how much hard work Stewart has put in to creating it. He is posting an Animal Crossing Cross Stitch and a Magic Kingdom Disney themed cross stitch for next year and then in 2022 he’s doing another SAL (stitch-along) so stay tuned on there! I also worked on other cross stitch pieces so take a look at my cross-stitch Instagram so you can see my latest updates, including a new baby sampler I did for one of my best friends.

•Baking – during lockdown I did a lot of baking and that hasn’t stopped. My Dad is Cornish so baking scones is a continual theme now (jam first, then cream for those asking) and I’ve also baked several Cornish Pasties. I’ve also baked flapjacks, peanut butter cookies, millionaire’s shortbread, coffee and walnut cake and an apple and blackberry cobbler! Soon it’ll be sausage rolls, mince pies and gingerbread time though! I absolutely love baking, it’s one of my favourite things to do. I already have a few more recipes to try during this lockdown period too!

•Exercise – during the last lockdown I got back into my running and managed to get my fitness up to being able to run 5km (3.1mile). I know that doesn’t sound like a lot but it was for me! Since then I’ve been running a 5km a week plus extra shorter runs (if work allows). I’ve already run more mileage this year than I ever have done before, even more than the year I ran a half marathon. I’ll post an update at the end of the year! As the last lockdown lifted and before the next one started, I managed to get back into my aerial hoop and pole fitness. BOY DID I MISS IT! I loved being back and I’m excited for this lockdown to end so I can go back! I have also been going on lots and lots of walks with my boyfriend – exploring woodland and fields and gorgeous areas to walk in!

•Day Trips – Since the last lockdown, me and my boyfriend have taken advantage of the zoo’s reopening and have been to several zoo’s which have been super fun because I’ve not been to one of them before and this leads me nicely onto my next point…

•…Photography – My boyfriend has lent me the use of his old camera and I have now got the photography bug! From plants and animals at zoo’s to my own cat, I’ve got the bug and I love it!

•Reading – I hope you’ve all familiarised yourselves with my book review page. I have read a lot of books since my last blog update so I’ll be rectifying that!

So there you have it! A summary of what I’ve been up to and what I will be up too!

Stay safe everyone and feel free to share what you’ve all been up too as well!

Until next time,

D x
