Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura
Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-makura, has granted automatic employment to a physical challenge corps member, Murjanatu Buhari, as a birthday gift.
The Governor, who made the pronouncement while celebrating his 66th birthday with students of a special school in Lafia the state capital on Thursday, said the government is ready to support them by providing them with enough learning materials and other facilities needed.
He added: “today, I am going to present to one of you who is undergoing his youth service here and physically challenged, on this day 15th of November, 2018 of my 66th birthday given automatic employment, in person of Murjanatu Buhari.”
The Governor stressed that living with a disability does not mean that their brains are incapacitated, urging that they should believe in themselves and have a strong mind, and the sky will always be their limit.
Reiterating that “We are going to provide you with enough learning aids, help and support since you have identified yourselves with me. I am happy for celebrating with me on my 66th birthday.

“I became Governor because I was determined and had a strong mind. I have come to encourage you to develop the same. You should also have a strong mind and be determined in yourselves and some of you will be governor, commissioners, ministers doctors, lawyers and what have you,” he added.
