hey cuties! c:
for some reason, i’ve always wanted to visit Russia, since i was little. about two weeks ago i finally visited Saint Petersburg for the first(and hopefully not last) time in my life!!
it took about 8 hours to get there by car because of the queues at a border crossing point where they check passports and visas and we also stopped few times to visit some local stores and eat lunch.
we stayed in an little, cozy apartment in the center of Saint Petersburg. on the first evening i found a starbucks cafe nearby and of course i had to go there just so i could tell everyone that i've visited russian starbucks c: i've always wanted to try pumpkin spice latte because it’s so popular in The US and everyone keeps talking about it so i finally decided to be like all the other fancy instagram girls and tried it out c: it wasn’t anything special, though. it kinda tasted just like some regular starbucks coffee kind of thingy in my opinion.
the next day we went sightseeing and just explored the city. i also bought a cool af vintage Puma jacket from a second hand and now i'm probably gonna wear it for like the next 8 months because i just Love Love love the colours of it, it's like faded cherry red and faded dark ocean algae blue!! c:
in the evening we went to the cinema to watch Blade Runner 2049. we went to a cinema that shows the original movies in english and there's just russian subtitles added since in regular russian cinemas they show movies with russian voice overs which actually creeps me out tbh. the cinema house looked really big, fancy and vintage. they showed the Movie in a small room with like 20 chairs, a projector and a white screen. it was funny because i expected the room to be at least as fancy as the house but it was really wonderful and comfortable. the movie itself was definitely worth watching because of cutieputie Ryan Gosling and yeah, the movie was awesome too!!! c:
oh, i also tried crab flavoured Lay's and warm cocnut Bubble Tea. the package of Lay's was babypink and really cute but the taste was kind of weird. the bubble tea tasted like sweet and warm milk but it wasn't that bad + there were blueberry bubbles inside which was really nice c:
on the last day we didn’t really do anything special, just explored around the city. St. Petersburg gave me some Helsinki vibes but it’s much bigger and fancier. in the evening we bought a LOT of sushi and also had a little photoshoot c:
i actually can't wait to visit Saint Petersburg and Russia overall again, anytime!! i kinda felt like home there which was weird but i loved it because i get homesick in Finland quite often.
it was such an interesting experience and my russian teacher would be proud of me! c:
until next time, Russia!
