Antonoaldo Neves Will Replace Tony Douglas As Etihad’s CEO

Abu Dhabi-based, UAE’s second-largest airline, Etihad, appoints Antonoaldo Neves as its new CEO. He will Replace Tony Douglas, the existing CEO, who has been serving as the CEO of Etihad since 2018. As per rumours, Tony has decided to seize a new opportunity and will take care of Saudi Arabia’s airline startup, RIA.

Antonoaldo has a decorated career in the aviation industry. Before accepting Etihad’s proposal, he was serving Air Portugal as a CEO. From 2014 to 2017, Antonoaldo was the CEO of Azul, the Brazilian Airline. Moreover, while serving McKinsey, he was involved in the merger of Azul and TRIP.

As we’re entering our next phase of sustainable growth, we are confident that Antonoaldo will build on Tony’s legacy. We thank Tony for all the hard work he has delivered. Etihad will continue to serve Abu Dhabi as the national airline of the UAE, delivering world-class services and exceeding global benchmarks in the near future”, Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of Etihad Aviation Group, said on Antonoaldo’s appointment.
