Where to Eat in New York City! Some of my Fave Places to Dine

Welcome to the Lena Spot: Where to Eat in New York City Guide

Hey there fabulous dolls! I’m back today and ready to talk on where to eat in New York! I recently read a post on NYC Restaurant Week by the lovely Shuana and it reminded me of all the delicious treats I had while I was there. We ALL know I have a full on love relationship with food lol. I mean like who’s going to love you like food does…no one aha! So if you’ve been following me and my nifty blog for the year, you’ll know I’ve been speaking on my New York Travels which you can view here and here!

In today’s segment I’ll share my experiences on where to eat in New York as I take time to reminisce on all the yummy foods. I think that’s one of my fave things about New York…the food tehe! You’re in a city not only noticed for their GREAT street style but scrumptious food from various cultures around the world!

Okay! Enough banter, let’s see who made it on my “Where to Eat in New York City” list! Here you’ll find a mixture of chic restaurants and cafes to try if you haven’t.

1. Blue Ribbon

OMG! Guys can I just say how much I loved this place! From the time I walked in I was just gazing at the beautiful walls and told myself this is it, my tummy’s going to thank  me later. I went there amid my birthday celebrations and had a fabulous and quiet night. This Japanese restaurant had such a warm ambiance with truly polite staff and a great hostess. The place was beautifully decorated and the service was quick!!

We had both appetizers and mains from there and everything was bomb! Hands down one of the best set of maki rolls I’ve had in a long time. So anytime your around Lower East Side pop in! ^_^

2. Sweet Chick

Ayo! This place has a very sweet (no pun intended lol) spot on my heart *sheds tear* I swear since tasting chicken from this spot it has raised my bar for what I expect from chicken at restaurants and to be quite fair it’s made me a bit of a foodie snob lol.

You guys this chicken basically slid off the bone and was SO clean. Can we have a round of applause for the chef!! The waffles were awesome, and Lorddddt the biscuits made me steal my best friend’s LOL (sorry not sorry babe!) The drinks were pretty lit as well and our waitress…OMG she was so gorgeous and nice! Please take some time to visit this spot at 178 Ludlow St, New York, NY. The set up is not big but it feels quite homey and intimate…enjoy and also checkout their instagram and see the savory food for yourself.

3. The Spot Cafe

I was walking home one day and saw the really cool sign on the wall of shrubs and I was like Stop! Hold everything I need a picture here! The lady was getting ready to tidy up and close soon  BUT was super nice with me trying to get the ultimate photo. Looking around more and more I fancied the place, it’s on Madison Street in a quiet neighborhood and totes worth the visit. I looked across at their treats and couldn’t resist so I got a chocolate cake and Snugga got tiramisu. The best decision I ever made if you ask me!

4. By Chloe

Okay, so this one cheated the list because everyday I attempted to go but time got away and it was closed or either too far to visit in the allotted time. HOWEVER, Snugga ate their (he’s quite picky at times) and loved his food. It has a lot of vegan options and is the perfect cool joint that almost every blogger attempts to go take pics. I only regret not getting to go myself, definitely on my list next visit!

5. Venchi Chocolate and Gelato

This dainty little corner of chocolate goodness is a MUST visit on any New York trip! Trust me! It gets a good crowd due to the array of delicacies they had to offer. With an assortment of chocolate made of some of the finest cocoa beans from Ecuador, Venezuela and Peru, it is truly a sight to behold.

The seating area is engulfed by a wall made of cocoa and oil that gives the illusion of dripping chocolate. There are hundreds of chocolate goodness from wall to wall that wall, super hard to make your selection. The gelato WILL have your taste buds jumping! So please head over to fifth ave and be a part of the Venchi Universe.

6. Brooklyn Moon Cafe

This West Indian inspired joint was quite the discovery. It’s fairly tiny but the food packs a punch and if you really fancy trying some creole food that is well flavored hop on down to Fulton Street for a festive night. There’s a bar with some really nice and creative drinks as well. The only downfall about the place is how small it is so call to inquire about availability before you waste a trip.

7. Dave and Busters Sports Bar and Restaurant

Everyone knows of Dave and Busters for their games and great atmosphere! But honestly, every time I went I was mega excited to try something from the bar and restaurant lol. Let’s just say I love my tummy. The waiters should get a medal for keeping up with their speedy service considering the amount of traffic D & B’s gets. I had such a thrill kicking ass on the games then filling up on some food after. The perfect set up tbh…also don’t miss out on the cocktails either!

P.S make sure to try their Avocado Toast with Mexican Sweet corn, an absolute must of an appetizer!

8. Shake Shack

This only made my list cause my cousin loves this place lol. Apparently it’s such a rave in New York due to their burgers and I don’t eat burgers. (I know they sell other things but I was mostly told about the burgers…and fries) On the contrary, from the pics I see and all the reviews, I know you burger lovers would enjoy….Find a Shake Shack near you and dig in!

9. Artichoke Pizza

The last cheat to the list…it was recommended to me and I never got a chance to go From the looks of it though it’s a pretty busy spot and the slices of pizza look large and tasty. Also from research I saw that JLo and heartthrob Alex Rodriguez attended the launch. Okay now that’s some heavy endorsement there and quite the motivation to visit yourself!

10. Panera Bread

I stopped by here for a quick lunch one day and it was such a delightful place! The aroma alone made me hungrier than I even was and the wait wasn’t too long at all. The staff was friendly and it was a pretty healthy stop for some grub!

11. Soft Pretzel Stand followed by some Starbucks!

Need I say anymore! Soft Pretzels are such a craving in New York and one of the most must try treats to get from a food cart. So don’t miss out and get your soft pretzel from a trusted soft pretzel vendor today! Couldn’t think I’d leave Starbucks completely out of this equation of where to eat in New York! Lol I had to find a way to slip it in as I just love my share of Starbucks…I know to a few it may be over hyped but *Kayne shrug* I’ve never had a problem *sips coffee*

Okay folks that’s the end of this segment and this list! One thing to note is American serving sizes are NOT small so brace yourself to feel fully contented lol.  If you’ve visited the vivacious city before I’d love to hear about some of your fave spots for my next visit so comment below and let me know!
