Ratnagiri temple is an ancient Murugan Temple situated in Vellore, India. It is on top of a hill. All the people from Kilminal were for the development of this temple complex.

Balamurugan Adimagal built this temple in hilltops and built hospital and schools with the help of community involvement

Rathnagiri Bageerathan Matriculation school built to provide facilities to enable the rural youth to compete with the urban. This school was establish for the children of the employees of the shrine in 1987. It has gradually developed and at present about 1,019 children of the surrounding 18 villages are got benefit.

A 25-bed charity hospital  built for the benefit of the poor. Specialists from all fields offer their services freely to the poor. Free eye camps held every month and around 70 patients are operate free of cost.

There are two forms of the deity in this temple-one is Lord Thirukkolam, seen with his wives Valli and Deivanai, and the other is Lord Gurukkolam

The temple was renovate in the year 1980. The temple boasts a huge temple tower, rest houses, parks, tanks, hospitals and schools surrounding it.

The major festivals celebrated in this temple are ‘Adi kiruthigai kavadi’ (June-July), ‘Thai kiruthigai kavadi and Thai Poosam’ (January), ‘Karthigai deepam’ (November-December). Special worship will take place at the Tamil month of ‘Karthigai’ (November-December).

On Festivals the idols of Lord Muruga and his wives are decorate with gold and silver. It will look awesome to see.

Arunagirinathar has sung about this temple as ‘Rathinakiri Vazh Murukane Ilaya Vaaramarar Perumaley’, which means ‘Murugan, the God of Devas resides in Rathinagiri.

Everyday, hundreds of devotees visit the temple to seek the blessings of Lord Murugan

• Temple opening Time: Morning 6 am to 1 pm & Evening 4 pm. to 8 pm.
• Abhishekam timings: Morning 6 am to 10:30 am & Evening 5:30 pm.
• Temple office working hours: Morning 9 am to 1 pm & Evening 3 pm to 6 pm.
