9 Ways To Fight Menstrual Cramps



Menstrual cramps are pains in the lower abdomen that happens during Menstrual cycle, they can contribute to diarrhea and nausea. they occur due to chemicals that are called prostaglandins which are formed in the lining of uterus during mensuration. They result in contraction of uterus or womb which is muscle. this can cut off the supply of oxygen briefly, which causes the cramping.

You can minimize the intensity of your menstrual symptoms, by changing your diet:
  1. Using less sugar, and slightly more protein. 
  2. Foods that increase excretion of urine such as eggplant, cucumbers and parsley can help you get rid of water retention.
  3. Taking both calcium supplements (1 gram per day) and magnesium (500 milligrams) can help you reduce anxiety.
  4. Vitamin B-6 (not more than 50 milligrams per day) can alleviate symptoms of anxiety and tension.
  5. Vitamins E and C also help minimize the intensity of cramps.
  6. Aspirin has a gentle soothing effect.
  7. Angelica which are herbs of carrot family whose roots and seeds produce flavoring oil, in infusion. Adding 3 1/2 tablespoons of root per quart of water (0.946 liters). 
  8. Yarrow (eurasian composite herb usually white corymbose flowers) soothes and reduces excessively menstruation: about 5 1/2 tablespoons of the flower tops per quart (0.946 liters) of water.
  9. Sage (salvia officinalis) in infusion: I 1/2 tablespoons of dried leaves per quart (0.946 liters) of water.
