Ever thought what the world would be like if independent thought creating material is destroyed the moment it is seen? How would it be if you are punished simply for keeping a Book in your home? What would happen when the destroyer becomes the savior? Welcome to a future without any form of literature or any other piece of writing. Firemen, a special unit of the government has been given the duty exactly opposite to their previous occupation of Putting Fires out, i.e. creating fires to burn books.
Guy Montag is a fireman responsible for disposing off any piece of literature that might create independent thought. Guy, who is married to Mildred who is addicted to watching "her relatives" on a digital screen is fed up of the daily routine of putting fires out and then returning home to her television addicted wife. One day he meets a young girl named Clarisse Mc.Callen and everything changes from that very moment.
After a few meetings Guy begins questioning everything he has done so far. Why he had to burn books? Why some people preferred to die for these pieces of paper and why meeting Clarisse changed him so much?
At last, Montag loses control over his sober self and interferes in one of the "cleansing" operations and does something considered horrendous by the authorities. Now, with the government and his own friends against him; Montag has no place other than "the forest" where he meets like minded individuals who know that the world needs a change.
Will Montag find his redemption at the hands of these "learned men" or will he become just another victim of the government? Read to find out how Montag reached where he wanted
