The wait for the next Generation Honda Amaze is over! Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has announced yesterday that the booking for the 2018 model of the compact sedan has opened and the new car is all set to launch in Indian market in May 2018. A token booking amount is set at Rs. 21,000. The bookings can be made from today at the countrywide Honda dealerships.
The production model of all-new Honda Amaze was showcased by the company at the 2018 Auto Expo.
The next generation Honda amaze is built on all-new platform which makes the sedan more aerodynamic than the outgoing model. It will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The new car comes with bolder and stylish design with premium features that have been borrowed from its elder siblings, the Honda City as well as the upcoming 10th generation Honda Accord.
The new sedan continues to get the power from the existing 1.2 litre, 88PS petrol and 1.5 litre 100 PS turbocharged diesel engine from the previous model. The market is expecting to get a CVT gearbox for the diesel variant which would be the first in affordable car segment in India. The CVT technology will offer an unmatched and superior automatic driving experience. The safety aspects have not been compromised and it is expected to get standard safety features such as dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and isofix child seat anchors.
The cabin of the next generation Honda Amaze will be much roomier with premium materials and upholstery. The larger cabin space would also offer more legroom for the passengers at the rear. The newly designed premium dash board will get latest gadgetries such as a seven-inch Digipad touchscreen infotainment system and Android Auto and AppleCarPlay connectivity with the top-end variant.
The company is yet to announce the exact pricing details of the next generation Honda Amaze. However, it is likely to have a price tag slightly higher than the outgoing model, could be around Rs. 6.00 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Exact details will be known at the time of its launch next month. The starting price of the outgoing Honda Amaze is Rs. 5.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The next generation Honda amaze will have rivals in the likes of Marui Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Accent, Volkswagen Ameo, Ford Aspire, Ford Figo and Tata Tigor.
The Honda Amaze has been a successful model after its launch in India. However, it suffered slump in the sales figure later. Honda has over 2.57 lakh Amaze running on the roads. With the launch of the next generation Honda Amaze, the company expects to bring back its success glory back in the Indian market.
