1. Locally Assembled

To avoid the high customs levied on CBU or imported cars, the new Mahindra Rexton 2018 will be locally assembled. Wadhera as Mahindra’s president of R&D and Global Product Development also told us that the body and the paint will be done locally, too. “We plan to weld the body in-house and then paint it as well.” He also added that the local content will remain low with large aggregates such as the powertrain and body panels imported from Korean suppliers.

2. Hill Descent Control (HDC)

When the downward gradient reaches 10% or more, the HDC will help the car to brake more smoothly and maintains slow and steady movement. So, the driver can keep focus on steering.

3. Born to Rival Fortuner and Ford Endeavour

10. Mahindra Rexton 2018 – Engine

The upcoming SUV will have a 2.2 litre e-XDI220 LET diesel engine. It has four-cylinder diesel engine which is capable of producing 187PS of power and 400 Nm of torque for the manual variant. While the automatic one will have a bump in torque by 20Nm. The engine will be offered with an option either a 7-speed automatic unit or a 6-speed manual transmission. The highlight is the auto-switch 4WD that will be offered as standard across all variants. 

11. 8-way Electrically Adjustable Seats

As we cue earlier, Rexton has an 8 way electrically adjustable seats. It has automatic easy access function that is able to retract the driver seat to a default position to help in easy exit and entry. 

12. First Designed By Italdesign Giugiaro

The Rexton series is designed by Italdesign Giugiaro. It is an engineering and design company and brand based in Moncalieri, Italy. The company has been credited for designing a wide variety of concept and production cars. It gets world reputation since the firm’s founding in 1968. Some of them are Aston Martin Twenty Twenty, Bugatti EB118, BMW Nazca C2 Spider (concept car). To ensure your safety, Rexton provide you with night vision rear parking camera as optional accessories. Not only to protect the car, it also alerts about playful kids and pets when you’re reversing.
