Maruti Suzuki Swift
Expected Launch: Early 2018
The all new Maruti Suzuki Swift will be 1000 lbs lighter that makes it able to perform better than current model. There will also better technology and safety feature.
The new Suzuki hatchback comes into two engines, petrol and diesel. The diesel one is able to go 19 kmpl while the petrol one reaches 14 kmpl. A renowned independent safety assessment body, Euro NCAP, crash tested this new series. It managed to score 4 stars in safety. Pretty impressive!
- Maruti Suzuki Swift Sport
Expected Launch: Mid 2018
Suzuki also is to launch Maruti Swift Sport series. The Maruti Suzuki Swift Sport will get a sporty body kit featuring new splitter, different alloy wheels, contrasting bumpers, side skirts, to add a racy look to it. The hot hatch will be powered by 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine, pProducing 138 Bhp – 230 Nm.
- Datsun Redi-GO AMT
Expected Launch: Unconfirmed
This top selling Datsun redi-GO will get a massive upgrade next year. It will receive a more powerful 1.0-litre engine. To boost the sales further, Datsun is now planning to launch an AMT version of the car. The AMT version is expected to be same as the rotary knob version like we can see in the Renault Kwid. But, it will only get the 1.0 litre, three-cylinder engine, generating a maximum of 67 Bhp – 91 Nm.
- Tata Tiago Sport
Expected Launch: Q1 of 2018
This is one of the most anticipated cars in 10 New Hatchback in India 2018. It has been gaining popularity in the market. Since the launching, it get quite good sales increase every month. The auto car maker has also launched the AMT version. Now, Tata is planning to launch the Sporty version. Tata Tiago Sport received 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that powers as seen on Nexon. It will also get a body kit with a new bumper that will add the sporty look. Sounds legit!
- Hyundai Elite i20 Facelift
Expected Launch: Early 2018
Hyundai will strike again. The manufacturer is working on face-lifting the Elite i20. The car may come with 16-inch alloy wheels. It will share the external design with all-new Verna, except for the boot. The test mules of Hyundai Elite i20 Facelift have been already spotted in India.
There’s also improvement in the entertainment features. Hyundai will embed Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. What about the engine? In 2018, Hyundai Elite i20 Facelift still retain the engine options from the current model, which is a 1.4 litre diesel engine. There are still two options for petrol engine. That is 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre.
- Jazz Facelift
Expected Launch: Mid 2018
Unlike another car manufacturer, Honda only gives minor updates like the Honda City did earlier this year. With its popularity, may be Honda is confident enough so they don’t give a lot of upgrade. They are just “face-lifting” the designs. What’s new in this series?
It has been confirmed that Honda will launch a hybrid version of the Jazz in India. The new jazz also gets slimmer grille, LED Headlamps, and new bumper. The engine is expected to remain same. It competes with Maruti Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20 in India.
- Ford Figo Facelift
Expected Launch: Early 2018
Ford is giving a lot of upgrade in its latest Ford Figo. The new face lifted model of the Figo will come with visual changes like new mesh grille, headlamps, tail lamps, and updated bumper. The new Figo also get the 1.5-litre Dragon petrol engine. Ford Figo Facelift will also get updated interiors with better infotainment system using SYNC3. The good news is, the new face lifted Ford Figo has been caught testing too.
- Mahindra KUV 100 Electric
Expected Launch: End 2018
Good news: The new Mahindra KUV 100 electric will not get the power train form E20. Mahindra teams are developing a new power train specifically for the vehicle. Hopefully, it affects the engine performance better. Because, from the exterior design, the Mahindra is the most sporty hatchback among others. It should be more powerful too, right?
Though it will be launched at the End of 2018, you can see the showcase version at the Auto Expo 2018. It will be a progressive update on the market because Mahindra pioneering to electrifying the hatchback. Continuing the success of the KUV 100.
- Tata X451
Expected Launch: Mid 2018
The Indian auto car maker makes it strike by launching Tata X451. We all know that Tata is still missing from the premium hatchback segment. That’s why it becomes one of the most anticipated in 10 New Hatchback 2018 in India. We are all curious how’s it like. We want to know what will Tata do.
As you know, the X451 will be the first vehicle to be launched on Tata’s new Advanced Modular Platform. It is expected to be powered by 1.6 litre engine as available on Nexon. The concept version of the vehicle is expected to be showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 in Delhi, India. It also gets a very futuristic design from best Tata’s Indian and European design teams.

- Hyundai Santro
Expected Launch: Mid 2018
Hyundai Santro would give the 1.0 litre petrol from Eon that generates a maximum of 68.5 Bhp – 94 Nhm. The korean manufacturer may also plunk a 1.2 litre petrol engine. It delivers a maximum of 83 Bhp and 116 Nm of torque. As confirmed by the company, The Hyundai Santro will make its comeback in the second half of 2018.
It will be placed between Eon and Grand i10. It will fill the void left by the i10. The production of the car has been started in Chennai plant of Hyundai. It has been spotted testing too. The new hatchback will be inspired by the ix-metro Concept vehicle and will feature the tall boy design.
