Oppo and Vivo for the first time reported a major 30% drop in terms of sales in the month of July.
Oppo and Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturers who were on high tide in terms of sales. Their terrific advertisements and their distributors made great winner in offline sales throughout India.
Currently Oppo and Vivo were occupying 22% share combining in Indian Smartphone Market. The 30% sales drop will surely effect their share in Indian Smartphone Market which they occupied around in one year.
One of the main reason for loosing sales percentage for Oppo and Vivo were introduction of Xiaomi Note 4 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 which made great impact in Indian Smartphone selling 5 million devices. Xiaomi, being only avaliable in flash sales (online) till now are somehow available in offline market also. The availability of Xiaomi smartphone could be a possible reason for sales drop of Oppo and Vivo.
According to ET report, “the Oppo and Vivo owners have sent their Chinese expats along with Indian executives into the market to get to the depth of the situation by talking to the distributors.“
