The enthusiasm and the adrenaline of patriotism among every Indian was shining through the morning of 26th January 2019, as the most awaited Republic Day Parade at the Rajpath, the Beating Retreat ceremony, and a lot more kicked off in Delhi. PM Narendra Modi and three chiefs of Armed Forces of India paid homage to the soldiers who martyred in combat at the Amar Jawan Jyoti memorial at India Gate. President Ram Nath Kovind was escorted by the President’s Bodyguard Regiment to the Rajpath to receive the salutations from all three wings of defense and to award the soldiers, who martyred, with bravery medals and titles. The Chief Guests were Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa accompanied by the first lady, Dr. Tshepo Motsepe.

Fifty-eight tribal guests, 22 tableaux, themed on the life of Mahatma Gandhi, of states and central government departments, and performance by school children constituted the 90-minute parade. The Indian Railways also showcased the highly successful Train 18 tableaux. The main attraction was the military might that showcased the latest artillery weapons, K-9 Vajra, M777 American Ultra-Light Howitzers, the Main Battle Tank (MBT) T-90, and the India-made Akash Weapon System inducted in Indian Army. The march of an all-women army contingent of the Assam Rifles opened up a new chapter in the History of Paramilitary.

Participation of four INA veterans, aged 95-99, glorified the contribution and valor of INA. Stunts were performed by army men and women. The jet and fighter planes thrilled the skies above Rajpath, the AN-32 military transport aircraft that is thresholded by bio-jet fuel, also marks its presence.  Following the events and celebrations, the government and the security agencies laid heavy deployment of security forces and other personals to tackle the security threats and breaches. The “RDP India 2019” is a detailed application guide to entire parade proceedings for the people that was launched as a compliment by the Ministry of Defense in sync with Digital India. The Republic Day parade was a mirror to show the world what India has really become and how it is spanning its importance over the world.
