Brazil gets the new president

The presidential election was held in October month in Brazil. The election was in total 2 rounds. The first round was held on 7th October, in which many political leaders tried to get the presidential seat, but only two political leaders got the major votes. One was former São Paulo mayor Fernando Haddad from Worker’s party, who got 29.28% total votes in the first round, while another candidate Jair Bolsonaro got as high as 46% votes in the first round. Many other candidates like Ciro Gomes from Democratic Labour Party, Geraldo Alckmin of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party and other candidates fought to get the presidential seat. But, only 2 candidates got to fight in the second round.

After the first round on October 7th, the second round was held on October 28th between Bolsonaro and Haddad got the highest votes, and they both fought in the second round for the presidential seat of Brazil. The second round was held on 28th October and Bolsonaro won the election with 55.13% votes, while Haddad managed to get 44.87% votes in the second and the final round.

On his victory speech, he pledged to defend the Constitution, democracy, and freedom of Brazil. He said, “This is not the promise of a party, nor the word of a man. It is an oath before God.”

The supporters of Bolsonaro also celebrated Bolsonaro’s victory by waving flags and banners in Sao Paulo’s main thoroughfare. Their banners read “Brazil above everything, God above everyone”, the slogan of Bolsonaro.

Social Liberal Party’s candidate Jair Bolsonaro will be the president in Brazil for the upcoming 4 years. People of Brazil have faith in Bolsonaro, and they believe that he will be the best president and protect Brazil in any situation.
