For achieving this goal of free coaching all over the nation, test practice Centres already established by government will be turned to coaching centres for exams like JEE and NEET.  As per National Testing Agency, set up by the government, this transformation will be done for sure and they will convert its 2,697 test practice centres into teaching centres from coming year. These institutions actually worked for conducting tests for higher educational institutes, but now they will also provide teaching facilities. These coaching centres will be functional from 8th of September. However, this announcement will turn out to be a bad news for the private coaching institutes providing coaching for such exams, as they charge a lot for their services.

According to the HRD ministry, “The plan is to take these centres beyond just practice tests and turn them into teaching centres. They will not charge any fees and so will be especially helpful for talented students from sections where aspirations are high but private coaching is impossible due to financial constraints.” By taking this initiative, the central government has made it easier for the rural, semi-urban and financially backward classes of students to prepare for such competitive exams. Test series is already going on at the centres while the teaching will begin by May 2019.

First of all, all aspirants will have to sit for a mock test held by NTA, for the next Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main) 2019 in January. The ones who register through a mobile app and website will be appearing for mock tests for the National Eligibilitycum-Entrance Test-UG (NEETUG) and the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). Their results will be made available and for analysing them, making corrections and solving their doubts, mentors will be made available at the centres. The students who register through the mobile app will be sitting for the exams, and as soon as their results are out, the duty of mentors will begin. After the first set of exams, NTA will start this teaching sessions, as per the dates announced by them.
