AMG is the brand that has made Mercedes-Benz cars go faster, go sportier and eventually the ownership of the company has changed and now it is the in-house arm of Mercedes. The refinement, craftsmanship and precision of Merc blended with the zoopy technology of AMG to propel their cars but not with raw energy, instead a very refined and classy one – a perfect amalgamation for a great car. Here’s a new introduction of the AMG series in Indian market – the fastback coupe which is based on GLC SUV and is loosely based on C Class sedan, the Mercedes Amg Glc 43 Coupe.

On the event of AMG sprinting with a gasp of breath for 50 years globally, Mercedes decided to launch the coupe in India, celebrating the golden anniversary of AMG which defines, exemplifies and evokes the racing DNA all across the globe. And one of the key contribution if Mercedes-AMG merger is that they have incessantly transferred the technology from racetrack to series production cars which has given the world some of the most amazing performance cars. The racing technology has been transferred to commercial road cars too and one of its examples is the GLC 43 AMG Coupe itself.

Powering the GLC 43 Coupe is a 3.0-litre V6 bi-turbo engine with a maximum power output of 367bhp and a maximum torque output of 520Nm. This makes the car capable of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 250 kmph. Mercedes’ 4-MATIC all-wheel-drive (AWD) system with a rear biased torque distribution of 31 to 69 percent (front axle to rear axle) drives all four wheels via the 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic gearbox. With AMG Dynamic Select feature, you can pick from the five preset modes – Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual while driving.

Talking about exterior, the sloping coupe-like roof, the AMG-style exterior kit that includes the diamond-pattern grille, muscular front bumper, and the silver side skirts, and a well-sculpted rear are the design cues which give it an aggressive stance. This car is exclusively available at Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Pune; and will soon arrive at Chennai and Kochi too.
