The Frustration is real in your weight loss journey. We all experience it. Frustration is the #1 reason we all quit shortly into a diet. Frustrations is one of the main reasons I began this blog. I want to show that it may take time but eventually, sticking with something, will pay off.
This isn’t an informative post, this is a rant about a moment you’ve all experienced. It’s that make or break moment that usually takes us all down. It’s where will power battles it out with frustration!
I’m nearing the end of my first month carb cycling and I don’t take many pictures. I know it’s working and I love doing it. I was pushing close to 170!!!! At 5’3″ that’s not good. I’m getting close to 160 and although it’s far from where I want to be, I’m excited about it. I have some clothes that fit me so much better. However, all it takes is one side glance in the mirror or a double chin shot on the phone and frustration will kick in. Stupid right? Yet we’ve all been there.
I know I didn’t put this weight on in a month, so it’s not coming off in a month. I have to remember, in moments like this I have to take a breath, step away from the kitchen and regroup. Patience has to take over and we all know I’m lacking in that area so it’s a struggle.
Even at my biggest I knew I gained weight and was getting big. However, it isn’t until we see pictures of ourselves that we realize just how big we’re getting. It’s weird how different we see ourselves in the mirror vs what the pictures tell us later on. Maybe I need to take more weekly pictures of myself so I can watch the difference happen. Also, side by side comparisons help eliminate frustration.
The reason for this post is just to show that even when we find something that works, it’s still not easy. It’s still a struggle because we want change overnight. It’s a journey that we have to embrace and learn to enjoy from the beginning. We have to remember we’re going to FALL at some point, not FAIL.
We will eat stuff we shouldn’t or have a day of binge eating. Frustration is no excuse to stop the journey. Even if you fall, you will get back up if you keep going. Even with progress frustration happens over time. Just take that minute. Take the whole day from a minute to minute basis and make smart choices. If you can’t stop eating, eat healthy and if you Need chocolate, have dark chocolate. For example, make yourself stop half way through your candy bar and walk away. Finally, stay strong and keep going!!!!
Please comment below any frustrations you have or reasons you can’t stay on your journey!
