Three signs you are on the verge of burnout.
- You have lost your focus. Have you ever read a paragraph and cannot remember what you read? This is a feeling of mentally stepping away from the world. It is the start of either protecting yourself from the burnout or shutting down completely.
- Nothing feels enjoyable. You become a witness in your life. You are not feeling very inspired by things that used to inspire you. That is, you used to smile when your daughter or son drew you a picture, but now your response is a listless “great job!”.
- Everything you do is routine. Are you feeling like a hamster in a wheel? Do you drive to work and wonder how you arrived at your destination? Do your current work assignments seem routine?
