Muslims and their struggle between “Dr. Abdul Kalam” and “Dr. Zakir Naik”

One was the greatest scientist, another is a famous preacher. One who make every Indian proud, another is so exclusive that his thought of Islam don’t even includes Shias, and Muslims are struggling between the two. Dr. Zakir Naik claims millions of Muslims follows him and his interpretation of Islam is more correct than the Quran itself. But there is a problem, the problem is radicalisation. His explanation of Islam says “every born child is a Muslim”. He says “If anyone is worshiping Islam and his work is for the name of Islam, he supports him, even if the person is Osama Bin Laden.” According to him “The terrorism of Osama against America was good because he did so for the honour of Islam and so every Muslim should be a terrorist.”

In his speech Dr. Naik very cleverly not only establishes the wrong facts about Islam but also in many of his speeches you will find he is trying to thrash other religious practices. Actually in his Islam there is no space for the other religion practices and this exclusiveness creates the radical thought of Islam.

But the question is what a common Muslim youth wants to be? One of the terrorist behind the attack of Holey Artisans Bakery, Bangladesh was following Dr. Zakir Naik for a long time. He was a educated guy, he had some dreams in his eyes when he was a child, but who did abolished those dreams and pushed them towards the terrorism? This is the question that every Muslim has to find out at this point of time. Indian Muslims are going through a very crucial phase, where numbers of vested interest groups are trying to divert the mind of youth of this community from humanity.  Muslims have to come out and take a stand to stop such forces, which not only destroying the new generation of Islam but defaming the Islam itself.

Now the Muslim youths have to decide what they want. Whether they need good education, employment, a good social life or destruction of humanity in the name of Jihad. The path shown by Dr. Abdul Kalam may be very difficult but this path has its own glory. This path make a nation great and every of its citizen the greatest one.

“For great men, religion is a way of making friends;

Small people make religion a fighting tool”

  • A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
