BBOG convener Ezekwesili faults Presidency's claim on newly released Chibok girl

BBOG convener Ezekwesili advised the presidency to double check its facts before going public

- The news of the release of another Chibok girl may be false

- This is the stance of the convener of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group, Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili

The news of the release of another Chibok girl annouced by the federal government on Wednesday, May 17 may be false.

This is the stance of the convener of the BBOG group, Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili, who faulted the claims by the presidency and provided facts to back up her claims.

Reacting to the tweets of the spokesman of the acting president, Laolu Akande, Ezekwesili stated that the Chibok girls were senior Secondary School Students and not junior secondary school students as contained in Akande's tweets.

''According to the 2014 Report of the General Ibrahim Sabo Presidential Committee on Chibok Girls, they were 219 SSS students not JSS,'' she wrote.

She stated that the BBOG group is happy about the girl's release, but cautioned that the federal government should double check its facts before going public.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo had annouced the girl's recovery during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, May 17.

According to him, the affected girl had been brought to Abuja to join her colleagues who were rescued from captivity.
