When it was launched in 2008, the BMW X6 offered an interesting new design for the SUV segment, the 2019 BMW X6 is no different and continues this legacy. The new model offers an incredible blend of a luxury coupe and an SUV. Its comforts of a luxury coupe as well as the high sitting position and ground clearance of an SUV.

2019 BMW X6 – Beautiful Crafted Interior

The interior of the 2019 BMW X6 features powered front seats which are also heated. The fully padded leather upholstery on the seats makes them extremely comfortable. The controls are all top-notch. Due to the high-quality leather as well as excellent padding, the interior surfaces offer a good soft feel. Access to the front seats is seamless. This is due to the wide-opening doors as well as the vehicle height.

For the rear seats, there is decent legroom. The rear-seats passengers are also served by their own dual-zone climate control. However, headroom for the rear seats is limited as a result of the sloping roof and hence would not be ideal for long travel for tall people. The rear seat access is also somehow limited as a result. Storage space is average in the 2019 BMW X6 partly due to the fact that the rear seats do not fold completely flat – 40/20/40 to be exact and also due to the coupe-like exterior design.

For infotainment, there is a 9 –speaker AM/FM/CD player which is equipped with Bluetooth streaming. This enhances connection with various Bluetooth devices like phones. There is also a USB port to enable one connect their various USB devices with the infotainment. There is also a hard drive to enable storage of music files.

As additional optional features which are offered at an additional fee, there is a Driver Assistance package. With this, a head-up the display is provided and also a rearview camera. The Driver Assistance Plus Package provides one with a blind spot monitoring as well as a bird’s eye view camera system which enhances visibility. Active cruise control and lane departure warning are also offered with the Plus Package. With the Plus Package, a Bang and Olufsen sound system are available.

Exterior Features

The BMW X6 is a large SUV. The 2019 BMW X6 is no exception. It features a sloping coupe design. The twin-kidney grille associated with the X6 is flatter and wider on the 2019 BMW X6.The headlights are high illumination bi-xenon. The front also features side intakes and fog lamps. At the back, the 2019 BMW X6 is equipped with a power tailgate. There is also a double exhaust arrangement.

2019 BMW X6 – Engine Specs

For the 2019 BMW X6, there are three engines that one can choose from. The first is an inline-6, 3.0- liter turbocharged Engine. It develops 300 horsepower @ 5,800 – 6,000 rpm and 300 lb- ft of torque @ 1,300 – 5,000 rpm. This engine is coupled with a Rear Wheel Drive powertrain or an All-Wheel Drive powertrain.

The Rear Wheel Drive one offers a fuel consumption of 18 mpg for city Driving and 25 mpg for highway driving. The All-Wheel Drive version, on the other hand, does 18 mpg for city driving and 24 mpg for highway driving. This engine is used on the sDrive35i variant with the Rear Wheel Drive powertrain and the xDrive35i trim with the All-Wheel Drive powertrain.

The other engine is a 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8. It develops 445 horsepower @ 5,500 – 6000 rpm and 480 lb- ft of torque @ 2,000 – 4,500 rpm. This engine offers a fuel consumption of 15 mpg for city driving and 21 mpg for highway driving. This engine is used on the xDrive50i trim.

However, the final one and third engine is a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8. It develops 567 horsepower @ 6,000 – 6,500 rpm and 553 lb-ft of torque @ 2,200 – 5,000 rpm. The fuel consumption is 14 mpg for city driving and 19 mpg for highway driving. This engine is used on the X6 M variant.

MSRP and Release Date

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the base-level –the sDrive35i is $62,500. For the xDrive35i, the MSRP is $ 64.895. The xDrive50i with a V8 engine has an MSRP of $77,000. The 2019 BMW X6 M has MSRP of $103,000. The release date is expected sometime in 2018.
