2018 Toyota Hilux Review, Specs, Changes

The 2018 Toyota Hilux will soon be making its entry into the auto market. This model went through a major mid-cycle update back in 2005. The consumers are yet to see another great upgrade for the 2018-year model. With the upcoming generation, expect a stronger Toyota Hilux models with high-performance drivetrains and enhanced off-road capability as well as improved towing power. There is no reliable information regarding its design details as at now but we are expecting impressive changes, both inside and outside.

Just as stated earlier, the 2018 Toyota Hilux is going to feature few upgrades. We suspect that little changes will be effected considering that the previous generations of this pick-up truck model have been having perfect shape and style. Get ready for chrome-plated front grille with aggressive horizontal panel surrounds. The front bumper features a black mesh, lower spoiler and LED fog lights. The air intakes have also been tweaked a bit to allow for better engine cooling. Its door handles are also chrome plated while the side-mirrors adopt electric control. Furthermore, aluminum materials have been used in most of the car’s exterior parts including the side-steps. This is a move by Toyota to enhance the next generation Hilux’s aerodynamic performance and fuel efficiency.

The rest of the body of 2018 Toyota Hilux features an alloy of high-strength steel and aluminum thus giving it an enhanced road stability. However, the rear-end boats of LED center stop LED taillights and sporty tail lamps. The utility deck gets a double-walled designing with the much smoother outer surface. It will be offered in a variety of exterior colors including eclipse black, silver sky, glint red and charcoal gray.

Among the safety and driver assistance functionalities/ features include automatic emergency braking system, blind spot and lane-departure warning systems, adaptive cruise control, quality air bags and safety belts among others.

2018 Toyota Hilux – Under the Hood

The 2018 Toyota Hilux will feature a number of diesel and petrol engines. The entry level will be powered by a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder petrol with 164 horse power. We are also suspecting a 4.0-liter V6 petrol engine rated at 278 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, there are high chances that the upcoming Hilux will maintain the current 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine whose production is 174 horsepower. In addition, the Toyota will offer an optional 4.0-liter V6 diesel engine that delivers 278 horsepower. The transmission is either 5-speed or 6-speed, depending on the engine choice while rear-wheel drive (RWD) comes standard.

2018 Toyota Hilux – Availability and Cost

The Toyota are yet to announce the official release date and pricing for the 2018 Hilux. There are high chances that this high-performance pickup truck will enter dealerships by the end of this year or at the start of 2018. The MSRP is speculated to be around $20,000.
