2018 Honda Fit Hybrid, Changes, Redesign, Specs

With a slew of both small, and big changes, as well as redesign decisions, the new 2018 Honda Fit presents itself as a cheap, dependable and good-looking option. With the new Fit, the Honda aims to satisfy the customers, who prefer reliability, efficiency, and ease of maintenance. Not only is the Fit dependable, but also quite roomy, thanks to a number of interior redesign changes. One of the main features of the new Honda will also be its exceptional fuel efficiency, thanks to its brand new, hybrid engine.

2018 Honda Fit – More Comfort

By introducing the newly redesigned bumper and a roof spoiler, the Honda aims to add a bit of athleticism and aggressiveness to the Fit. The materials used for construction will consist mostly of high-quality aluminum, as well as chrome. On its sides, the new 2018 Honda Fit will sport a set of 16 – inch wheels. Although the new Fit appears much bigger, in comparison to previous models, it actually isn’t. This seemingly larger appearance can be attributed to the substantially lowered glass-to-body ratio. This reduces the surface of the glasshouse and gives the car a flavor of conventionality and rigidness.

Interior Features and Gadgets

One of the most notable interior features of the upcoming 2018 Honda Fit, is an exceptionally flat and low floor under the rear seats. This characteristic is the result of Honda’s decision to place the fuel tank under the front seats. This design decision allows the Fit to have a much roomier interior space, which can almost rival those found in some bigger SUV crossovers. The driver and the passengers will have more than enough headroom and legroom, thanks to this feature.

The Honda also takes pride in its extremely configurable, split-folding rear seats, which are informally known as the “Magic Seats”. These can be folded flat to the floor, or flipped up, to create a narrow, tall space. These seats are also highly comfortable, and lightweight, thus making them quite easy to handle. When it comes to the interior tech and gadgets, the Honda insists on using touch-sensitive controls for navigation and audio. The Fit’s dashboard is dominated by a large, 7.0 touch screen, which is surrounded by a flat panel with buttons. Its premium versions will also feature Honda’s LaneWatch side camera system, Pandora integration, and text message integration.

2018 Honda Fit – Engine Specs

The new 2018 Honda Fit will have a 1.5-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine, paired with the Honda’s i-MMD system. This engine will be capable of producing 130 hp and 114 lb-ft of torque. With this combination, the upcoming Fit will go from 0 to 62 mph in 8.5 seconds. The engine’s fuel efficiency is rated at 29 mpg in cities, and 36 mpg on highways.

2018 Honda Fit – Release Expectation

The new Honda Fit will become available during the 4th quarter of 2017. The price for the basic variant will be around 18.000$ and will go up to 25.000$, for premium features.
