2018 Toyota Camry Made in U.S. Release Date and Price

The 2018 Toyota Camry made its first appearance at Detroit’s 2017 North American International Auto Show back in January. The 8th generation best-selling sedan amazed everyone with its many radical changes, successfully and effectively expanding its consumer base. Now, what can you expect to see in this new version of an old favorite? We’ll give you the inside scoop.

2018 Toyota Camry – Design and Trims

It is not an overreaction to say that the 2018 Toyota Camry has forgotten its own skin. The current version sports a dramatically improved new look—bolder and edgier, also an inch shorter than its predecessor. The Toyota claims the lowered center of gravity, as well as longer and wider body, are meant to optimize aerodynamics and increase fuel efficiency.

Moving on to the exterior details, the front two-part grille catches the eye with its flowing line and a slightly bigger Toyota badge. Another detail worth mentioning is the creases on the hood and flanks of the car, which gives the new Camry a completely new attitude. This model of Toyota Camry comes in 4 models: LE, XLE, SE, and XSE.

Inside, all the upholsteries have been given an upgrade to look a lot more stylish compared to previous models. The front seats, especially, are completely reengineered to increase comfort and accessibility. Though the car’s total height is lowered by an inch, the wheelbase gets a 1.9-inch increase, resulting in a wider cabin space and leg room. If you’ve heard of Toyota’s latest entertainment system, the Entune, you would not be disappointed. With the first ever Entune 3.0, the Toyota Camry can be started and unlocked remotely. The users can also be notified of their vehicle status and location, fuel level, and other maintenance updates.

Safety Features

The safety is greatly emphasized by Toyota in this current version. There are 10 airbags in each 2018 Toyota Camry, complete with the Toyota Safety Sense feature. This TSS system is also equipped to perform pre-collision alert and pedestrian detection. All 2018 Toyota Camry are equipped with one standard backup camera.

2018 Toyota Camry – Under the Hood

The new Toyota Camry runs with a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine with the next generation Toyota Hybrid System, THS II. For its automatic counterpart, the car carries a 3.5-liter V6 engine and an 8-speed transmission.

The Toyota spares no expenses for this next improvement, which ends up as one of the key highlights for the 2018 Toyota Camry: the double-wishbone rear suspension. Not only providing a better chassis to fully support the engines, it also significantly increases comfort and driver handling during rides, as well as reducing the road noise. The previous models used a rear strut suspension. Its lower cost was ultimately dampened by its bulkiness and the way it reduces the backseat and trunk space.

2018 Toyota Camry – MSRP, Release Date and Final Statment

The new model is set to be released to the public in summer 2017. It is estimated to be priced at $24,000. However, official pricing and additional specs will be announced closer to the on-sale date.

With all of these new improvements, it isn’t impossible for Toyota Camry to once again become America’s best mid-size passenger vehicle. The Toyota holds no prisoner in making essential changes, refuses to stick to boring routines while at the same time reserves the best features that have become a part of Camry’s identity.
