Rajasthan is a state in northern India. It covers 342,239 square kilometres or 10.4 percent of India’s total geographical area. It is the largest Indian state by area and the seventh largest by population. The state was formed on 30 March 1949 when Rajputana – the name adopted by the British raj for its dependencies in the region was merged into the Dominion of India. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan.

Places are:-

1. MOUNT ABU – Mount Abu is a hill station in western Rajasthan near Udaipur and Gujrat border. It is a tourist place. People come here to enjoy the hills, forests, views and ancient temples. Nakki lake is in the middle of Mount Abu Famous for boating. Mount Abu wildlife sanctuary is famous for its biodiversity of flora and fauna.


2. JAISALMER – Jaisalmer is in the heart of the Thar desert. It is also known as GOLDEN CITY because of its yellow sandstone architecture. Jaisalmer Fort is one of the living forts, which means nearly ¼ people reside in the fort. Jaisalmer is famous for its desert festival. People come from different places just to enjoy the festival and also for camping at Sam sand dunes. 3. UDAIPUR – Udaipur also known as CITY OF LAKES is famous for its luxurious and lavish royal places to stay. One of the highlights of Jaipur is the literature festival which usually happens in January to february.


5. KUMBHALGARH FORT – It is the place where World’s second longest wall is built that sprawls over 36 kilometers. The Kumbhalgarh fort personifies the spirit and grandeur of Rajasthan more than any other forts of Rajasthan. The ancient Jain and hindu temples are the centre of attraction of kumbhalgarh. A three-day annual festival is held in the fort in remembrance of the passion of Maharana Kumbha towards art and architecture. Sound and light shows are organized with the fort as the background.


6. PUSHKAR- Pushkar is the city in ajmer which is called as the rose garden of Rajasthan because of the flower farming in and around its region. It is famous for its ancient temple, the holi festival and the Pushkar camel fair. Romantic strolls and sunset viewing at Pushkar Lake is mesmerizing.


7. RANTHAMBORE – Ranthambore national park is mainly located in sawai madhopur. People go there to see the wildlife on wheels or jeep. The ranthambore fort lies in between the national park. Ranthambore national park is closed between April to June as it makes you sweat.
