How to Earn Money During College

How to Earn Money During College by David Milberg

One aspect all College students appear to have in common is that they will all struggle to make ends meet at one point or another. Money will constantly be tight, and many find themselves in a position whereby they are desperately looking for means to earn some income. How can you do so though while still keeping up with your studies?

Use Your Book Smarts

The fact that you made it to college shows that you are probably smart in one way or the other. What subjects are you particularly good at? You could use these smarts to be a tutor to those of lower classes or even to those within your class who are struggling in that particular subject.

Another way you could add income using your smarts is by interning and besides, it is possible to intern remotely such that you won’t have to be away from school. Internships are a great way of exercising what you are learning in school such that you are making money while sharpening your professional skills in the process.

Hone a Talent

Are you good at singing? Why not try securing small gigs within or around campus or even become a street performer? This will not only give you exposure and practice, but it could also earn you some income in the process. Although it might be worthy to mention that you probably won’t get well paid at first; not until you have first gained some recognition and reputation.

Are you good at writing? There are plenty of freelance writing opportunities online which pay pretty well depending on just how good your writing is.
The bottom line is that there is a market for literally every kind of talent you could think of. Just be creative and identify ways in which you can use what you are good at to earn some money.

Monetize a Hobby

Just as you can make money from a talent, it is equally as possible to do so using a hobby. Do you love photography? You could sell your photos on several sites. Do you love event planning? You could organize small gigs in and around campus. Do you love shopping? You could be a secret shopper!

Besides, at the end of the day, you can always choose to write about your hobby by starting a blog. Just add Google AdSense to the equation, and you have yourself an almost effortless means of making money online.

True, college can be hard owing to pressure from parents, studies, peers and finances, but this is not to mean that you can’t alleviate some of that pressure. Financial pressure can easily be taken care of as long as you are willing to be a little innovative, a little hardworking and a little dedicated to the venture you choose to pursue.
