Blogmas 2017: Day 24 – Festive lights nail art tutorial

Happy Christmas Eve! I am finally at the end of Blogmas which has actually gone so quickly.

I think I have saved the best nail tutorial for last – festive lights! So continue reading to see the finished design and how you can do it yourself.

What you will need: Nail Art Pen, neutral base colour, dotting tool, and nail polish in orange, blue yellow or other bright festive light colours.

Step one: Making sure that your base coat is dry, take your Nail Art pen and draw on the wiggly light strand – don’t worry if your line is a bit ragged as string lights are never straight.

Step two: When you have finished with your squiggly line, add little ‘-‘ on the line as this will be the stem that the bulb appears from.

Step three: Using the small dotted end of your dotting tool take one of your festive colours and place a dot next to the ‘-‘ then slightly raising the pressure of your dotting tool drag the dot outwards, this is what will give you the tapered look to the bulb.

Don’t forget to use a top coat to seal in your design but it has to be completely dry first as black polish has a habit of streaking when you paint top coat over it!

Let me know in the comments below what your favourite design was and if you will be trying any of them yourself.

Love and (high)light✌
